A creative learning studio in Seattle, Washington
Pronounced ma-rah-loon-ay
The future belongs to the imaginative.
Maralune makes playful, sensory-rich learning tools and experiences for children and the grownups sitting on the floor beside them.

About
Built around how children actually learn.
Maralune is beginning deliberately. It grew out of years of work in child development, learning design, executive function, and the ordinary, unglamorous craft of setting up a room so a child can get to work.
What comes out of the studio is made slowly. It is sketched, built, handed to real children, taken apart, and made again. Some of it will become tools. Some of it will stay a good question.
Children already know how to think. The work is making things worthy of that.
What we’re exploring
01
Playful tools
Small, well-made things a child can pick up and understand on their own terms. They are open enough to be used a hundred ways and sturdy enough to survive it.
02
Sensory-rich experiences
Rooms, materials, and routines that let learning happen through hands, bodies, and attention rather than through worksheets and sitting still.
03
Working alongside others
Prototypes, consulting, and professional learning for schools, museums, and makers who want children to be genuinely considered in what they build.
Now taking shape
The studio is open, and early.
Maralune Studio is licensed and quietly at work. If you make things for children, or want to, I’d like to hear what you’re working on.
